In short
Race and Trail tracks the opening dates of 101 trails, peaks and races: lotteries, permits, huts and registrations. Each date comes from the official website when it has been published. Otherwise, we say clearly whether it comes from the specialist press or whether we estimated it from previous years.
Where the dates come from
- The official website first. The organizer's, the park's or the hut operator's. Every guide gives the link and the name of the website used.
- Then the specialist press, when the organizer has not published anything yet. The date is then marked "press".
- Otherwise, an estimate. We use the calendar of previous editions. The date is marked "estimated" and we replace it as soon as it is officially announced.

Count as of October 18, 2026. Most dates are estimated because organizers often publish their dates only a few weeks before opening.
Prices
A price always comes with its year (for example "2025 rates"). When we have not checked it ourselves on the official website, it is marked "rough estimate". Today, 50 prices out of 101 are checked on the official website.
Opening times
The time is the organizer's, in local time. The guide converts it to your time zone. For a lottery, the time makes no difference to your odds: the first and the last day are equal.

- Updated: the last time the page content changed.
- Checked: the last time we read the dates again at their source.
- "To check" box, in the guides: what we could not yet confirm from an official source.

Only the ones marked "confirmed". The others come from the specialist press or are estimated from previous years, and every guide says so.

No. Every guide links to the official website, where you apply, enter the lottery or book.
How often are the dates checked?
Every guide shows the date it was last checked. All were read again on October 28, 2026.
